Named for Dave Ellingson, a beloved Professor who taught at Trinity Lutheran College.  Dave not only taught about environmental stewardship and about many issues related to social justice, he continues to do so today by traveling, speaking, and writing books about these topics.

Overview

  • Scholarships awarded will be $1,000.
  • The number of scholarships offered can vary from year to year.
  • The scholarship will be for one academic year.
  • Scholarship funds are applied to cover tuition, room & board, and fees and are paid from TEF to the institution.
  • Recipients will receive a two-week summer internship at Holden Village in the beautiful Cascade mountains in Washington state to be a part of a community focused on living a lifestyle around creation care and social justice.  
  • Students shall only receive one TEF Scholarship per academic year.

Eligibility

  • This scholarship is for graduating high school students who have a passion for and will be studying in majors related to environmental studies and/or social justice issues.
  • Will be attending an accredited Christian college or university in any of the northwest states (WA, OR, ID, MT).
  • Have a minimum high school 3.0 GPA.
  • Submit a 350 word essay, telling us about your passion for environmental stewardship and/or social justices issues, your involvement, your plans for studying in college and how you envision your studies directing your future after college.
  • Upload, your official high school transcripts with your application.
  • Upload, your Letter of Acceptance to the college or university you will be attending by April 15.

The TEF Seminary Scholarship

For students who are studying at a Christian seminary in the United States.

 

Overview

  • Size of scholarship will be determined each year.
  • Number of scholarships offered can vary from year to year.
  • The scholarship will be for one year and the recipient can reapply the next year for a second year.
  • Scholarship funds are applied to cover tuition, room & board, and fees and are paid from TEF to the institution.
  • Students shall only receive one TEF scholarship per academic year.

Eligibility

  • Will be accepting/attending an accredited Christian seminary in the United States.
  • Upload, your official Letter of Acceptance.  If you are already attending submit your unofficial transcripts and a Letter of Good Standing from the institution you are attending with your application submission.
  • Submit your statement (up to 250 words) of what you are studying in seminary and how it fits into the intent of the scholarship and to carry on the spirit and mission of Trinity Lutheran College and/or the Lutheran Bible Institute-Seattle.

Although these scholarships are broad in nature, applicants in these areas of study demonstrate intend to work in a vocation that expresses the spirit and mission of Trinity Lutheran College and the Lutheran Bible Institute-Seattle. Please see the About Us page to learn more.

The scholarships will be for one year. Students may only receive one scholarship at a time from the Trinity Education Foundation.

Upon completion of the academic year in which the scholarship was awarded. Recipients will be required to submit a written summary of their academic and college experience over the prior year, that may in whole or in part be posted on our web site and other materials.
